Shayna played a leading role in creating Community Opportunity Alliance’s Annual Family Snapshot, a report on trends among member network organizations. Her responsibilities included collecting survey responses, analyzing the data, and authoring the report. In addition to utilizing her research and writing skills, she had the opportunity to collaborate with Community Opportunity Alliance staff and communicate with members to obtain quotes for the report.
Shayna is working towards an objective in her VAD to help build the initial internal components of a new Community Opportunity Alliance media engagement initiative to raise awareness of the community development field and help advocate for communities on a national level. She has been creating and presenting the initial components of this initiative to Community Opportunity Alliance staff, board members, and various committees for input. While she has been presenting her work, she has been strengthening her public speaking and project management skills.
