Join us on Tuesday, May 23 from 11:30 am to 1 pm., in person at the NCRC Building for a presentation and discussion on Preservation of Legacy Businesses by Shae Corey, Program Manager for DC Preservation League and Zachary Burt, Community Outreach and Grants Manager for DC Preservation League.
Learn about the newly published report by The DC Preservation League on the topic of legacy businesses in Washington, DC. Generally defined as longstanding businesses with strong community ties, legacy businesses enhance the District’s character and provide a blueprint for a building’s continued reuse. These businesses open the door to further historic preservation discussions surrounding adaptive reuse, the inclusion of diverse stories in preservation, and heritage tourism. In this presentation, DCPL will discuss its recent legacy business programming and research.
Lunch is provided. Registration is required.
